Nvidia announced its Open Agent Safety Platform on September 28, combining open software with a reference system design for governing AI agents. The release focuses on controls spanning software and computing hardware.

OpenShell and Sentry play different roles

According to Nvidia, OpenShell sets execution boundaries and enforces policies for agents. The company describes Sentry as a separate watchdog running on BlueField-4 data-processing units, designed to monitor behavior and stop agents that leave permitted boundaries.

Nvidia says OpenShell is broadly available and can be extended to third-party computing platforms. The announcement also lists organizations working with its safety technologies.

What the announcement does not establish

These are vendor-described capabilities, not a guarantee that an agent cannot fail. The release is a product announcement rather than a quantified earnings contribution.

Investors following NVDA should distinguish an expanding software ecosystem from independently measured adoption and financial results. This report does not claim a stock-price reaction.
