Cookie Policy

The Short Version

TickerPosts currently uses only first-party cookies and browser storage that are either essential to signing you in or that remember your own settings. There are no active advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no cross-site tracking by default. If optional Google AdSense, Google Analytics, or comparable services are enabled later, those cookies should be separated from essential storage and controlled through consent where required.

Cookies We Set

Cookies are small values a site stores in your browser. TickerPosts sets two.

• tickerposts_session · essential · only set after you sign in. It keeps you signed in so you do not have to log in on every page. It is marked HttpOnly and Secure and lasts up to about 30 days; signing out clears it.
• tickerposts_theme · functional · remembers whether you chose the light, dark, or system theme so the page looks the same when you return. It holds only that preference.

Settings Kept In Your Browser

A few features remember small settings using your browser's local storage. These stay on your device and are never sent to our servers.

• tickerposts_theme · the same light/dark preference, kept in local storage as the durable copy.
• tickerposts_watchlist and its companions (_sort, _density, _notes) · the tickers you save while signed out and how you like your watchlist sorted, spaced, and annotated.
• tickerposts_recent_searches and tickerposts_recent_ticker_views · the last few tickers you searched or viewed, so the site can suggest them again.
• tickerposts_reading_pos_* · where you left off on a long page, so you can pick the read back up.
• tickerposts_draft_comment:* · an in-progress comment you are writing, so an accidental refresh or navigation does not lose it.
• tickerposts_remembered_email · the email you typed into the login form, if you ticked the “remember me” box.

What We Do Not Use

We do not currently set advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or personalization-tracking cookies, and we do not embed third-party trackers that follow you across other sites by default. If Google AdSense or another display-ad provider is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads, and Google may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites. Visitors can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, and site-level controls will live on the Privacy Settings page.

Your Choices

You can clear or block any of these at any time from your browser's privacy settings. Clearing the session cookie signs you out. Clearing the watchlist key while signed out empties your saved tickers. Blocking browser storage entirely still lets you read the site, but settings and signed-out watchlists will not be remembered between visits.
