DaVita, the kidney dialysis company, agreed to a $10 million settlement of the consolidated class action over the April 2025 ransomware attack on its systems, and the claims process opened October 20, 2026, according to OpenClassActions.

The incident and the case

DaVita discovered the attack, which the settlement agreement attributes to the ransomware group Interlock, around April 12, 2025 and disclosed it in an SEC filing on April 14. A dozen class actions followed in Colorado and Missouri; the Colorado cases were consolidated as Jenkins v. DaVita (No. 1:25-cv-01358). The parties settled at an October 2025 mediation. Judge Regina M. Rodriguez granted preliminary approval on August 21, 2026 and set the final approval hearing for February 18, 2027.

What class members get

An estimated $50 pro rata cash payment, reimbursement of documented losses up to $2,500, and three years of credit monitoring. Filing online requires the unique ID and PIN from the notice. The deadline is January 19, 2027, online or postmarked. No payment date has been announced.

Why it matters for the stock

For readers following DVA, the $10 million settlement is small next to the operational cost of the attack itself, which DaVita discussed in its 2025 results. The claims rate, once reported, will indicate how many of the affected patients engaged, a benchmark for other health-care breach settlements.
