HPE announced a $1.2 billion order from Vultr on September 30 for AMD Helios AI Rack systems. The company described it as its first order for the platform, with deployment planned at Vultr's U.S. cloud data centers. Source: HPE.

What the systems include

Each rack combines 72 AMD Instinct MI455X GPUs with EPYC processors, networking and ROCm software. HPE contributes scale-up switching, liquid cooling and deployment services. The systems target model training and inference.

What the order does not establish

An announced order should not be treated as cash already collected or revenue already recognized. The total also should not be attributed entirely to AMD: this is an HPE system order.
